<div dir="ltr">I'll tell you ... our family is one strong damn lot... Jim, Judy, Gail, and of course A, have gone through more than anyone should have to. I am so encouraged proud and quite frankly in Awe of the way all of you have handled these adversities. I know all of us have had our share, past and present... but a call out to you four, this round. I am thinking of everyone as we enter and leave this holiday season and wishing everyone sincere happiness, peace and of course good health. Stay safe and sound and we'll see each other sooner than later.<div>Uncle Phil</div><div>AKA</div><div>Big Al</div><div>Ro, anything we can do...please don't hesitate...</div><div><br></div></div><br><div class="gmail_quote"><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_attr">On Thu, Dec 17, 2020 at 10:13 AM Rosalie Dwyer via Family <<a href="mailto:family@lists.smuckleinstern.com">family@lists.smuckleinstern.com</a>> wrote:<br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0px 0px 0px 0.8ex;border-left:1px solid rgb(204,204,204);padding-left:1ex"><div dir="ltr">"In our continuing saga, we find our hero....."<div>Good morning all. Just a brief update. We went to Bangor last week for a biopsy on Jim's lung nodule. It was found to be another metastasis from his esophageal cancer, as was his brain cancer. The initial plan was to zap it with radiation and move on. However, as it worked out (My dad used to say, "the best laid men...") there are 4 nodules, not 1. With that being the case, we are going to have to go the chemo route instead to get a systemic treatment. Depending on what the insurance company ok's, the option may have to be a Folfox pump which has miserable side effects. The other (better) option is Cyramza combined with Abraxane. In either case, Jim will start infusions next Wednesday. </div><div>Jim will still be teaching 2 virtually-presented classes at UMPI next semester. He is just finishing his 2 Fall semester classes. They give him something else to concentrate on. He's making good progress in PT/OT. He's using a walker at home and a wheelchair out and about, but is using a cane in therapy.</div><div>I'm working from home, so I'm available 24/7. </div><div>OK, you can go back to whatever you were doing, The story is "to be continued". Peace folks!<br><div>Rosalie</div></div></div><div id="gmail-m_6774241797037033592DAB4FAD8-2DD7-40BB-A1B8-4E2AA1F9FDF2"><br>
